Riding home and it's a long drive, so I'm really thirsty. My husband is driving, so I have the freedom to play around in the passenger seat. I almost never drink soda, but I didn't have any extra water with me and we had to get something to drink on the hour plus long drive home. As soon as I break the seal on the carbonated soda, I can already tell it's going to make me belch. The seatbelt traps some of my burps in, but the road is very bumpy and my husband is a very cavalier driver, so we hit lots of bumps. Each pothole and jostle causes my belly to gurgle as it tries to push out the belches. At first, the soda makes my burps fizzy and gurgley. As I finish it about halfway, my belly is so bloated and distended from the foreign fizz that I start to unleash mega belches that make my husband exclaim at their reverberation in the small confined space of our tiny car. I have to adjust my seatbelt more and more around my big winter coat to let the burps out, but between the bouncing of riding in the car and some careful stretching, I manage to get almost all of the deep belches out to relieve the pressure. I may be a tiny lady, but my burps put my giant husband to shame as he laughs and talks off screen as he drives us home.
